1. Harley-Davidson recently debuted a new motorcycle, the Sportster 1200N Nightster. The motorcycle includes several unique features for Harley including chopped front/rear fenders, side-mount license plate, stop-tail-turn signals, front fork gaiters, rawboned graphics and a new finish on the V-Twin Evolution engine. Bucking the system, the motorcycle features mostly black features instead of chrome. What do you think of the new Nightster design from Harley?

HARLEY-DAVIDSON 2006 STURGIS RALLY SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED


MILWAUKEE (July 24, 2006) - Motorcycling enthusiasts will have plenty to see, do and ride in Rapid City at the 66th Annual Black Hills Motorcycle Rally, August 5-12, 2006, as the official Harley-Davidson schedule of activities is now in place. The rally is one of the world’s most popular motorcycle events due to its deep heritage, beautiful scenery and range of attractions.

Harley-Davidson and Buell events will run from Saturday, Aug. 5 through Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. Main events will include: the Harley-Davidson and Buell new product show (Aug. 6-11 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.), Harley-Davidson and Buell demo rides including the new 2007 models, Harley-Davidson Festival outdoor activities, Ride-In Show and a free bike wash.

The Harley-Davidson New Product Show inside the Rushmore Plaza features new 2007 model Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles, Genuine Motor Accessories and MotorClothes merchandise, Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Auction and Bike Raffle, Willie G. limited-edition commemorative merchandise and Ford Harley-Davidson F-Series Display. There is also a H.O.G. and BRAG members-only reception Saturday, Aug. 5 from 5-8 p.m. and a H.O.G. Hospitality area for members during the New Product Show hours.

The Harley-Davidson Festival outside the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center includes Harley-Davidson and Buell demo rides (9 a.m. – 3 p.m. daily), Roadhouse Stage with live entertainment, Harley-Davidson Traveling Museum, Acceleration Nation Harley-Davidson NHRA racing exhibit, stunt jumpers and Ball of Steel riders, free bike wash area and displays form John Deere, Monaco Motorhomes, Vault Energy Drink, Featherlite Trailers and Ford Trucks.

Enthusiasts are invited to register their Harley-Davidson or Buell motorcycle for the Ride-In Show, which will take place from noon to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10. Registration is at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Aug. 10. The $5 entry fee will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and all entrants will receive a special edition commemorative dash plaque. “Best of Show” winners in each of the 16 classes will receive a $200 cash prize, and $500 cash prizes will be awarded to the top Sportster and Big Twin utilizing Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.

Race fans will be able to check out the AHDRA Screamin’ Eagle Performance Parts Race at the Rally at Sturgis Dragway on Sunday, Aug. 6 and Monday, Aug. 7, which is also an official H.O.G. pin stop. The Harley-Davidson Saddle Up for Sturgis women’s ride will arrive at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center on Monday, Aug. 7. The Harley-Davidson Authorized Rentals booth in the demo ride area will be holding daily drawings for a free two-day authorized Harley rental anywhere in the United States.
