Wild Hogs will R.U.B. you right
In a sterotypical battle between weekend bikers and 1%-ers, the audience comes out the winner... laughing.
Larry, Moe and Curly have nothing on Cincinnati suburbanites Woody, Doug, Bobby and Dudley. Rather than facing a crumbling marriage to a swimsuit model, Woody (John Travolta) wants to escape via a mid-life crisis roadtrip on his Harley and recruits his rich urban biker (r.u.b.) friends for the cross-country adventure. Doug (Tim Allen) is the dentist approaching a nervous breakdown. Bobby (Martin Lawrence) is the hen-pecked husband who'd do anything for time away from his wife and plumbing career. The final member of the motorcycle club is Dudley (William H. Macy) who is more dork than dude and it shows in his riding skills.
As our boys ride west, they encounter the best and mostly the worst the roads have to offer. Their tents burn down in an accident and are caught by a gay Poncherello-ish police officer who can think of nothing but joining them. When they decide to experience the "freedom" of the road, they're caught skinny-dipping by a family. It all builds to Woody's pissed-at-the-world attitude and his actions at the Del Fuego gang's biker bar.

1st5ive reasons you'll enjoy "Wild Hogs"
-
It's a comedy. If you appreciate the humor of National Lampoon's Vacation, you'll have a great time watching Wild Hogs.
-
Casting and Cameos. In addition to our four leading bikers, the cast is filled out with Del Fuegos leader Ray Liotta and the biker babes Marisa Tomei & Jill Hennessy. For good measure, the audience is rewarded with guest appearences by the bad boys of American Chopper (Orange County Choppers' Paul Teutul Sr. & Jr.), Ty Pennington (Disney's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) and Mr. Easy Rider, Peter Fonda who rebounds nicely from his Ghost Rider casting.
-
Because four is better than two. By using four bikers instead of the normal buddy-buddy comedic backdrop, it's almost like getting two movies in one. The audience is exposed to a wider range of personalities from which to drap personal comparisions.
-
Everyone wins. It's a Disney film! The good guys win, the bad guys change and the heroes get their girls. No need for surprises here.
-
It's the next best thing to taking the trip yourself. For those riders stuck in the cold regions in March and unable to hit the road, it's just what the biker ordered.

1st5ive reasons you'll be disappointed with "Wild Hogs"
-
It's a Disney film. Don't expect the direction or tone of this film to push the limits of its PG-13 rating. You're not going to hear or see the real things these guys would say or see on the trip. Sorry, no shower scene with Beverly DeAngelo and the guys side-trip for a skinny-dip is a disaster from the start.
-
It's not a biker movie. This is a comedy. If you're expecting Easy Rider, you obviously didn't bother watching any of the movie trailers.
-
You're not a fan of Tony Manero or Danny Zuko. Mr. Saturday Night Live is the Grease of Wild Hogs. The movie is set around the personality and problems of Travolta's character. This movie will closely follow your impressions of his acting skills, up or down.
-
R.U.B.S are not bikers. For a segment of the culture, you're not a biker if you drive a cage or use anything less than a motorcycle as your primary transportation 7-days a week. Wild Hogs sterotypically represent the weekend riders that can think $15,000 and 15 minutes of paperwork makes you a biker. The only part funnier than watching Dudley crash repeatedly over two hours is listening to brag about his new tattoo... the Apple Computer logo inked on his arm.
-
It'll only make you want to get on the road for a trip yourself. The guys have a week to make the trip and enjoy life on the road. If you have the same passion, but not the time, watching the Hogs enjoy the lifestyle could be more frustrating than entertaining.
