first one pdi in canada im told KOOL 160 km so far its awesome. i put the stage 1 screaming eagle intake and exhaust and had the ecm reflashed,it sounds like it should.will take a while to break in then ill see how it really goes.but i can tell it has tons of torque

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Al on 4/18/2007
i now have 350kms it turns heads everywhere i go. its all in the details , take a good look up close its got many nice touches rite from the factory. if it dont fit in your pocket you dont need it, and thats what this bike is all about.

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Al on 4/25/2007
this is my last review. im now at 800 km its worth every penny. its a bike you can buy and not have to spend 2 grand on chrome extras.it needs your own personal touch but thats to be expected anyway.

Just hit 500 mi. and its breaking in nicely! torquey and has good manners in the twisty stuff. Need after market shocks to stay out of the chiropractor's office but who cares? It ain't a Barca lounger... It has Go and Whoa and some lights the State insists on but not much else. The "big" bike Bling Daddies turn their nose up at it but while they polish, I ride. Nice bike.

I had a test ride and couldn't believe the stiff feel!!. Can the suspension be altered to make it a little softer ride (ooh my back). I want one but it seems too stiff. HELP

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Soulbizkit on 9/16/2007
I have had mine for 2 months now and have put 6000 miles on it, love it, can you tell? I have stiffened up the shocks and bought a add on seat made for the brawler seat and ride my girlfriend all over the place, feels great for the both of us. This bike is unreal, i would not trade up for any other HD on the road right now.

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Piggy Pete on 11/7/2007
Fantastic Bike.Best I've had and I will keep it for a couple of years. Real Headturner and fun to ride. Had Stage 1 done. Runs and sounds great. Can use it all year without having to worry about the Chrome (Vivid Black ) Washes up well but looks just as good with a bit of dirt on.

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Dave Sebers- Quilcene, Wa on 12/7/2007
Had mine since 8/o7- LOVE IT It's Quick, fast, and torqier than hell.. All black. It's ment for someone my size 5ft-8" or there about, 180lbs. So it's ment for very few dudes, but if you fit that size you are in for a very rewarding experence. To clean it up I removed the reflectors on the front forks and end of rear fender- hair dryer to warm it up and then just peel them off. My only reget is that our riding season is from may to september.

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Kevin Thex on 12/19/2007
Love it. Had it for 3m and have over 3k on it. Not a week goes by that I don't get a "nice bike" comment. I hear a lot about it being a little dudes bike, but I'm 6'2"/215 and it's comfortable and handles nice. Granted, that's in town, but since it's my daily driver, that's appropriate. If I were going to Alaska, I might think differently. Looking for some blacked out 2 in 1's w/ ECM flash to increase performance (just 'cuz) and get rid of the last bits of chrome (I hate polishing chrome). Fun bike, head turner, dependable, easy to maintain - love it.

What is it with Motorcycle Meets aka: Aratula    By Johnny Reb on 4/13/2008
I love going to motorcyclemeets. When I began riding with others over 40 years ago (in Europe and now Australia). The only cost involved was your petrol and food. I've considered joing clubs such as HOG and Ulysses - here in Queensland Australia but the cost ! What is it with these clubs? It would be cheaper to stay in a 5 star hotel than take your bike and camping gear to a bikers meet. We are talking costs of $150+ in some cases . The well heeled baby boomer weekend wannabe dont help either as they will pay.
Just an example: We have a big meet coming up in a place called Aratula $25 per head, so if your on a trike with the missus and 2 kids thats going to set you back $100 ! Yeah per person not per bike. You get a patch of dirt to pitch your tent and a band playing. Food costs more and so does the drink.
Aratula used to be famous a few years back for being one of the biggest International meets. Bikers from Interstate and even overseas would go. Hell it even got into the Custom bike mags.. Clubs like the Angels, Uhlands, Comancheros all came together and one hell of a party happened. No trouble, you could party all weekend for a fee of as little as $10 per bike.
Heck I guess I'll just have to stay with the open road ... me and my Glide maybe I'll meet someone there.

I just hit 1000 miles on my Nightster and I have to say I love the looks of the bike but I am not happy with the ride. It is very stiff and has alot of vibration. My hands are going numb and I have never had that happen.

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Holly on 5/16/2008
This is the bike I wanted last year when I first learned to ride I love it it turns easliy is hot looking and is a zippy little ride I love it my bike is the suade blue and it is the on ly color Nightster in my town :) I love the sleek sexy look of this bike! I had trouble on my 883 last year cathing up, keeping up, and passing other bigger bikes not going to happen this year they will have trouble catchin up with me :) I am putting forward controls since i am 5'7 and adding lounder pipes to be heard and and engine guard i bought a windshield but dont like it because it takes away the zip ill use this for long trips
Happy riding everyone!

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Matt on 7/23/2008
Just turned 1000 milles on the Nightster and I am radidly in love. I don't use it as a commuter but the post work 50 mile blast is a great stress reliever. To those commentng about the ride I switched to a Mustang classic solo saddle and I can't describe how much better it is than the stock seat. Wth the stock seat after 10 miles my 40 plus body was looking for a place to pull over and strecth. On the Mustang I go a hundred miles before I need to stop for a smole. I've owned three dozen motorcycles, most of them Harleys and I have never had as many complements as I get with my vivid black 1200N.

I was orginally not a fan of Fuel injectiion but this bike startrs so easily and runs sio well cold I am sold. I just wish it still had a kick starter as Rich Cristoph originally wanted when he designed the bike.

This is a kickass bike. I am a woman, 5'4'', 140 lbs.... I am looking into forward controls... but a little worried on my hight.. what do you think?

Re: 1st5ive.com March Reader Survey | Harley-Davidson Nightster    By Dawn on 9/8/2008
Have 800 miles on mine and I absolutely love it. She handles curves beautifully and leaves my husband on his 883C in the dust when I want to! Plus, the double takes around town are fun; at first I thought it was because I'm a girl on a 1200 but then heard from one of our local cops that they radio each other as to my location so they can check out the sweet new Harley in town. Kind of cool, kind of weird...plus, I can't speed with that kind of attention.

Even with the fuel injection she runs a little fast when cold. I haven't tracked my gas mileage but I know it's not as good as the 56 mpg my husband gets on the 883C. I don't caere though; I almost love this bike more than my husband.

I did hurt my tailbone a few weeks back when I didn't lift off the pegs while going over an unavoidable pothole. The mid-controls are great for me personally though on longer rides I sometimes wish I could stretch out a bit, especially my right leg.

If I had to summarize this bike in one word: HOT.
