Harley-Davidson Motor Company is planning a number of exciting activities during the Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary to celebrate 100 years of Harley-Davidson Police Motorcycles.
These events will include the first ever Harley-Davidson sponsored Riding Skills Competitions. Event activities will begin Wednesday, August 27th and conclude Saturday, August 30th. Proceeds from the events will benefit C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), a national organization that provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
The Tommy G. Thompson Youth Center Building at Wisconsin State Fair Park will serve as the hub for the Police motorcycle activities. Detailed information regarding event registration, housing, classroom training sessions and riding skills training competitions will be communicated in mid-February. The main feature, the Individual Training and Skills Timed Competition, will be limited to the first 200 registered persons. This competition will have cone patterns based on the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety and Harley-Davidson’s Police Motorcycle Operator Course.
Two Grand Prizes will be awarded to eligible registered participants in the 100th Anniversary event. The final 2 units manufactured for the 2008 model year of the Police FLHTP Electra Glide® and the Peace Officer Special Edition FLHTCU Ultra Classic Electra Glide® motorcycles will be the Grand Prizes.
