To celebrate Halloween, the Harley-Davidson Museum™ has transformed the site's two large, orange hoppers into ghoulish, goblin faces. Everyone is welcome to stop by the Museum to see the hoppers "in costume," located at the north and south ends of 5th Street.

Through Nov. 16, everyone who purchases an adult admission ticket to the Museum will also receive a special gift, "The 100 Years of Harley-Davidson" book by Willie G. Davidson, while supplies last. The gift is the Museum's way of saying "Thanks, Milwaukee!" for being Harley-Davidson's home for 105 years.

Visit www.h-dmuseum.com for complete details about "Thanks, Milwaukee!" and the Harley-Davidson Museum.

The Club Run

The Club Run:

A “run” is when members of the club get together and ride as a group. Runs occur all the time and for many different reasons, but they are always club sanctioned and for a specific purpose. A run is the club’s fundamental reason for existing – this is where the guys get together, take risks, get rowdy and daring on the road, and enjoy all the freedom of mobility. Basically, it’s where all the fun happens. Runs can be festive and celebratory or they can be for official club business where the stakes are often dangerous and high. But no matter the reason, patch-holders are always down.

Unless it’s for an immediate club emergency, be it personal or business, runs take a great deal of planning. The right supplies are gathered, and the bikes are cleaned. Quite often a crash truck will either trail or precede the bikes. The truck will carry spare parts in case of breakdowns, sleeping bags, beer, food, etc.

In sticking with the system of club hierarchy, members ride in a specific formation. Clay, SAMCRO President rides at the front of the formation. Jax, SAMCRO V-P, and Bobby, Secretary-Treasurer ride two abreast behind him, and so on and so forth down the chain. If Clay is not present, Jax will take the forward slot.

When the club rides together, the magnitude of their dynamic force is truly felt – from the collective roar of their bikes, to the power of their unity. It’s on these runs that no member of SOA need be reminded of how truly awesome it is to be a brother.

Beginning today, contestants have an opportunity to personally design and win a custom 2009 model Harley-Davidson motorcycle by entering the “Build It and Win It” sweepstakes presented by Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.

The sweepstakes utilizes The Customizer (www.harley-davidson.com/customizer), an interactive web tool on a mini-site attached to harley-davidson.com that allows contestants to build a virtual dream bike based on 2009 Harley-Davidson models. On The Customizer, visitors can choose any 2009 Harley-Davidson model and then select from dozens of custom options, including Color Shop custom paint sets, Screamin’ Eagle performance components, hand and foot controls, custom front end parts and decorative collections, and add and remove them on a virtual motorcycle. As the bike is created, each new component appears on a picture of the virtual motorcycle, so a contestant can see exactly what the finished custom Harley-Davidson will look like. This dream bike can then be saved in a personal profile “Garage,” along with a convenient, printable list of each component with its part number and retail price. Read more
