Touring Motorcycle Tire Deflations Require Investigation, Attorney Says
Harley-Davidson, Honda and Goodyear Dunlop should investigate a number of motorcycle crashes involving sudden deflation of Goodyear Dunlop D402 and other tires, attorney Billy Edwards said today. The tires, installed as original equipment or sold as replacement tires on touring and cruiser motorcycles, may need to be recalled, he added. Read more

Bikes for Beaters?
The Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) took note that the President recently signed the Car Allowance Rebate System bill, also known as CARS, or by its former moniker, "cash for clunkers." This law provides individual Americans with vouchers up to $4500 toward the purchase of a new automobile when trading in an older, less efficient vehicle. The idea behind the law is two-fold, to stimulate an ailing auto industry and green up the country at the same time. CARS does not allow for any participation by motorcycle customers or dealers. If Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) has his way, however, you will soon be able to trade an older vehicle that gets less MPGs for a brand new motorcycle. Casey has introduced S. 1248, the Green Transportation Efficiency Act of 2009, aka the Green TEA bill. The Casey bill would provide a $2500 voucher when trading in an older car or bike to purchase a brand new motorcycle from a participating, registered dealership. Read more

Country music superstar LeAnn Rimes and rock legends Kansas head the list of entertainers slated to take the stage when the Harley Owners Group's (H.O.G.) 26th annual CLUB H.O.G. OKC rally rolls into the Oklahoma State Fair Park in Oklahoma City June 26-27.
Rimes kicks off the rally's opening night with a performance Friday at 8 p.m. at the fairground's Harley Stage, where Kansas will close the show the following afternoon at 1:30 p.m. In between, there will be a full schedule of additional musical performers, including D.B. Bryant, The Outlaws, Stage Country, Dead or Alive and Silver Bullet. Read more

On Monday, June 29, 2009, Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members around the world will band together in a singular challenge, to log a cumulative five million riding miles by the day's end.
Following the phenomenal success of last year's inaugural Million Mile Monday, which tripled the original goal of one million miles ridden by H.O.G. members to 3,000,960 miles, the goal for this year's ride on June 29 has been stretched to five million miles. Read more
